Bali has made a significant leap on the global stage, ranking 38th in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) 2024 City Rankings, released in Frankfurt, Germany, on May 20, 2025. The island hosted 54 qualifying international meetings in 2024, up from 34 meetings in 2023—a notable 58% increase in just one year.
These rankings are based on the number of international association meetings held in each country and city in 2024. This growth signals Bali’s rising appeal as a trusted international destination for business events and high-profile gatherings.
A Boost for Indonesia’s MICE Industry
The increase in meeting volume reflects not only Bali’s readiness to host world-class MICE events—thanks to its enhanced facilities, reliable logistics, and renowned hospitality—but also growing global confidence in Indonesia’s capability to deliver successful international events.
As a vital region within Indonesia’s MICE ecosystem, Bali’s success directly contributes to the country’s broader mission of becoming a competitive hub for exhibitions, conferences, and business networking platforms.
Bali’s progress in the ICCA rankings reaffirms the island’s growing international relevance in the MICE industry. It also highlights the resilience of local organizers and stakeholders in meeting global standards, even amid evolving industry challenges.
A Strong Signal to Global Organizers
The ICCA rankings follow strict criteria, tracking international association meetings that rotate among countries and host at least 50 participants. Bali’s improved standing showcases its readiness to welcome more large-scale, cross-border events with professionalism and excellence.
This momentum unlocks new opportunities for international partnerships, larger conventions, and strategic investments, reinforcing Bali’s role in the global MICE landscape.
Continuing the Climb.
While reaching the 38th global position is a significant milestone, ASPERAPI views it as a launching point for continued progress. Initiatives are already underway to support member readiness, upgrade industry capabilities, and further position Bali—and Indonesia—as a dependable and distinctive destination for international events.
The association continues to encourage close collaboration between local governments, tourism agencies, venues, and event professionals to ensure this upward trajectory is maintained and strengthened in the years to come.
